Former Employee - Marketing Manager says

"Family run business that is stuck in the 70's."

Former Employee - Graphic Production Artist says

"Boys club. It's hard for a woman to succeed in some departments. Very conservative company, afraid of change and sometimes their own shadow. Capricious marketing department, can't stick with a decision to save their life, plus they lack communication among their own department. Very frustrating to work with. Spent many years receiving only 1% or less raise."

Financial Analyst says

"Company was in the process of relocating to Michigan and all jobs were going away."

"Unethical management. Look in the mirror Dart, your employees have brains, utilize their skills."

Maint says

"Modern day slavery. Unethical Management. While the plant manager is ok, those right below him in the chain of command are terrible. They constantly work against him and the new owners policies."

Anonymous says

"Barely any chance of advancement. Modern day slavery"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Working conditions stink everything bad about this company"

Current Employee - Pricing says

"This was the worst job ever. I took it out of desperation and stayed with it for a year simply to pay student loans. Management was horrible and ran the company into the ground."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Horrible management. Expectations change daily. There is alot of favoritism, the rules only apply to some people, sometimes. There is limited room for advancement and thats only if you've made friends with the right people. Hours have been cut back since being bought out by Dart. No communication about the future or when things are going to pick back up. Maintenance is horribls, things are fixed just enough to make them run. No real preventative maintenance. When you are doing well there is no recognition, but if anything goes wrong there is hell to pay. In the summer it gets HOT!"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Solo Cup is like a baby...Upper management is the dirty diaper...if Dart doesn't dispose of that diaper, the baby will continue to smell bad & no one will want to stay & play with the baby. Nothing is going to change as long as the "powers that be" (and I use that term loosely) keep making crappy decisions that make no sense at all. Poor maintenance, 24/7 plant, but no 24/7 maintenance. And what "maintenance" we do have stinks as well. Machines down for long periods of time because cannot get ahold of any maintenance (that are on call) to come in. Again with upper management, poor attitudes, only care for themselves. Very closed minded. Will not listen to any ideas that are presented to them. Will not even listen to another person's point of view. And you might as well look for another job if you disagree with one of their ideas. If it is something that they think is good, it's not even open for discussion...the employees are doing it. Their response? "Well if they don't like it, they can leave!" And heaven help you if you have a life outside of work. Again, if it's something they want, "Well, you'd just better plan on changing your homelife because we're doing this?" "HOW DARE YOU HAVE A LIFE!" But they can leave in the middle of the afternoon and be gone for the rest of the day. Dart needs to (secretly) have some of their reps show up at these plants at 4:00 pm on a Friday & see how many of their upper management is still in their offices. Hell, even show up at 3:30pm!"

Production Supervisor (Former Employee) says

"This is a terrible company y that had over 600 employees come and go in a 14 month time frame. The department manager’s are incompetent. The plant manager tries to use intimidation to motivate his salary force. He is a overweight wanna be bad boy. He only cares about himself. The H.R. department is the worst I have ever seen. Don’t work there you will leave everyday depressed. Did I mention the H.R. department is the worst I have ever seen. You get a sleeve of damaged cups at Christmas. This is a dead end job. Don’t waste your time or your energy."

Production Worker (Former Employee) says

"I did not like solo cup at all. It was long hours, with low pay. The working conditions were not good at all. It was extremely hot, I did not like working there at all."

General Laborer (Former Employee) says

"they had people running around doing anything one manager would tell you something then the other one will write you up for doing something he didn't tell you to do"

Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says

"I worked the second shift and we had to pick up the slack from the much older first shift who were usually sitting on the forklifts talking when we showed up for work. We had to kill ourselves to meet the quota for the night while the other 2 shifts barely did any work.paid lunchto many responsibilities for little pay"

Material Handler (Former Employee) says

"I was hired to full-time after my 90 day probation. But even once I got to full time I was constantly being sent home. The managers are the mix up of all the drama. They keep nothing to themselves and like most people they pick their favorites. If you have to share any type of personal business with any type of supervisor it would quickly spread. Operators smelt of constant alcohol and would disappear leaving you to look stupid."

Palletizer Operator (Former Employee) says

"Love to work hard. How to work as a team. Get along with management and co-workers. Working as a team. Being part of a team."

Packer (Former Employee) says

"the hardest part of working at this job was it was hot cause we was working around machines all day and the other oldest part was working with relatives but it could be ok at times..peoplena"

Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says

"I learned how to operate all warehouse equipment is the most positive thing I can say. Hardest part of my job was that they kept changing my shift. No set schedule. Most enjoyable part was the people I worked with and the things I learnednonelow pay, no set schedule"

Manufacture Technician (Former Employee) says

"Enter Plastic raw material into machinery. Check finished product for damage or imperfections. Pack finish product in boxes. Maintain Clean work areaFriendly work envorimentShort breaks, extreme temperatures, no chance of advancement, and underpaid workers"

Machine Operator I (Former Employee) says

"Slave Camp for everyone !!! This is not a good company to work for, always have layoffs.NoneEverything"

Machine operater (Former Employee) says

"They have a temporary employment office in the building. If that don't say it all. Management treat the temps like temps because they hire temps and if u don't put up with the way they treat you they walk upstairs and have you replaced. You are def. a temp no matter how hard you work. Management don't watch how long of breaks you takeworst hours to work and no job security"

team leader (Former Employee) says

"I did not enjoy my days working at the Solo Cup Company. Management sucks and they really don't give a flying pig about you. It was always hot and the didn't want to spend extra money on fans or AC. Pay was horrible and scheduling was always a problem.great experienceall the above"

Employee (Former Employee) says

"Been with the company 6 months.... Management is the worst I have ever worked with in manufacturing for 27 years. They are not a management they are delegaters and can careless about the people they hire. They treat people as if they are a number and can careless if they have plans on their days off... If they mismanage then it falls on the employee AKA overtime with no notice or you will lose your job. I say your mismanagement doesn't constitute and emergency @ my dinner table. They are not involved on the floor with the people unless they need you to work overtime and on a last minutes notice. Everyone can't wait to see what Dart does with this place once they take over. Management have no people skills. For a food product place... It is filthy! I was shocked! Never worked at a place where everyone I talk to has low morality and are all looking for a new place to work. Very sad! Management all act the same. Never had a job where I felt like a robot.Long breaks, Great employees, always have workHot!!!, Low pay unless you are a old solocup employee from when the original owners cared about the employee"

Several management positions. (Former Employee) says

"The worst working years of my career. The same people that downsized the company from 2.5B to 1.2B and created 600M in dept. are the same ones receiving million dollar bonuses. They also had no problem laying off thousands of people."

packer (Former Employee) says

"if you do not mind long hours you will like it.It was like this four days on and three days off.alrightplace to workto long between breaks"

Quality Process Auditor (Former Employee) says

"not a good enviroment. it is an old plant with old equipment. the hours are not good for family oriented persons."

Machine Operator (Current Employee) says

"This is a 12hr.job.I learn to trobles shoot my machine instead calling for mechanic.Management could be better.Co-worker are nice. The hardest part of the job is the 12hr. shift. The most enjoyable part of the job meeting new friends and clocking out at the end of the get three 15min. breaks and one 30min.lunch.they over work you."
